Mild steel is a kind of carbon steel with a low quantity of carbon and is also known as low carbon steel. Mild steel has high resistance to breakage. Mild steel, as against higher carbon steel, is quite malleable, even when cold. This means it has high flexibility and impact strength. Higher carbon steels typically shatter or crack under stress, while mild steel bends or deforms.
